1-Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, the chief minister of Andhra Pradesh, declared on Tuesday that Visakhapatnam will soon serve as the state capital.
The chief minister has never explicitly said that Visakhapatnam will become the new administrative centre before.
* The YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) administration had proposed three state capitals with Visakhapatnam serving as the administrative capital in 2019, but the plan had been delayed by Amaravati’s farmers’ protests against the move and a High Court order ordering the government to develop Amaravati as the state capital.

2-Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, the chief minister of Andhra Pradesh, extended an invitation to businesspeople to travel to Visakhapatnam for the March 3–4 global investors’ forum.
He was speaking to business executives on Tuesday in New Delhi at a curtain-raiser event.

3-The previous TDP government had decided to establish Amaravati as the state capital, however Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy said on December 17, 2019, that three state capitals would instead be developed.

4-The YSRCP government proposed Amaravati as the legislative capital, Visakhapatnam as the administrative capital, and Kurnool as the judicial capital.

5-In order to rally support for their demands, Andhra Pradesh’s farmers organised a padyatra in 2021 that went from Amaravti to Tirupati. On September 12 of last year, they began the Maha Padyatra from Amaravati to Arasavalli. On November 12, it was supposed to come to a close in Arasavalli. The organisers, however, called off the march in the middle of it, claiming that the YSRCP administration was impeding their long march.

6-The Andhra Pradesh High Court ordered the state government to transform Amaravati into the state capital within six months on March 3, 2022. 75 petitions submitted by Amaravati farmers and others opposing the government’s decision on three capitals had been decided by a three-judge panel.

  • The state government did, however, appeal the decision to the Supreme Court. The Supreme Court halted the High Court’s judgement in November of last year, stating that the court cannot exercise the functions of an engineer or a town planner.

7-On Tuesday, the Telangana and Andhra Pradesh offices of Vasudha Pharma Chemical Limited were searched by the Income Tax authorities.

  • IT teams searched 50 places simultaneously in Hyderabad and the neighbouring state of Andhra Pradesh.
  • The crews started their searches at the company’s headquarters in Hyderabad’s SR Nagar early in the morning. The premises of Vasudha and sibling enterprises in Madhapur, Jeedimetla, and other locations were also being searched.

8- Amara Raja Battery facility in Andhra Pradesh’s Chittoor district experienced a huge fire on Monday evening, according to officials.

  • There were no casualties that were immediately reported. There were approximately 250 employees at the plant when the fire broke out, and all have apparently been safely evacuated.
    At the Amara Raja Battery factory in Yadamari mandal, the incident took place. The fire is thought to have been started by a short circuit.

9-On Monday evening, Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, the chief minister of Andhra Pradesh, was aboard a plane when it made an emergency landing at Gannavaram airport.

  • About 30 minutes after takeoff, the chartered aircraft carrying the Chief Minister and key officials to New Delhi made a final approach to the airport.
  • At 5.03 p.m., the plane took off, and it landed back on the runway at 5.27 p.m. It landed successfully.
  • The chief minister was travelling to the capital to speak to businesspeople and diplomats at a curtain-raising event for the AP Global Investors Summit-2023.

10- According to the Narayana Institute of Cardiac Sciences (Narayana Hrudayalaya) in Bengaluru, actress and politician Nandamuri Taaraka Ratna remained to be in a serious condition on ventilatory and other support on Monday.

  • On January 27, the well-known Telugu actor and Telugu Desam Party leader experienced a heart arrest in Kuppam, Andhra Pradesh, and was sent to a hospital there. On January 28, he was transported by vehicle to Narayana Hrudalaya.
  • Higher level diagnostics revealed that his health was extremely serious upon admission to the hospital due to cardiogenic shock following the myocardial infarction.
