Current affairs of sports play an important roles in the preparation of students for various examinations and also to know ones interest to develop knowledge on it.

1-Harbhajan Singh was the first Indian bowler to bowl a Test hat-trick. Since his debut in 1998, the spinner has taken 417 wickets in 103 Tests, 269 wickets in 236 ODIs, and 25 wickets in 28 T20Is.

2-Harbhajan Singh was also a member of the winning ODI World Cup team in 2011. In 2009, he received India’s fourth highest civilian honour, the Padma Shri.

3-ACC U-19 Youth Asia Cup 2021 Squad: The opening match of the ACC U-19 Youth Asia Cup 2021 was between India-U19 and UAE-U19.

4-The BCCI’s All India Junior Selection Committee named a 20-member Indian squad for the U-19 Youth Asia Cup Squad 2021, led by Yash Dhull.

5-The Asian Cricket Council organises the ACC Under-19 Youth Asia Cup for U-19 teams from its member countries. The inaugural match was held in Bangladesh in 1989, and India won the event.

6-The second edition of the U-19 Youth Asia Cup was held in Pakistan after a 14-year hiatus, with the Indian side retaining the championship from the first encounter.

The second-tier tournament, the 7-Youth Asia Cup, debuted in 1997 in Hong Kong and has been hosted every other year since.

According to sources, the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 mega auction would take place from February 12-13 in Bengaluru, Karnataka.

9-According to reports, the new IPL franchise Ahmedabad will sign Shreyas Iyer, David Warner, and Hardik Pandya ahead of the IPL 2022 major auction.

10-According to reports, the Lucknow IPL franchise has signed KL Rahul as captain, as well as two other players, Rashid Khan and Ishan Kishan. The Royal Challengers Bangalore are expected to select Manish Pandey from the auction pool as their new captain for the IPL 2022 season.
While RCB has retained Virat Kohli, he has indicated his intention to stand down as captain after the 2021 IPL season.

11- Virat Kohli, the Indian Test captain, has dropped to seventh place in the current ICC Men’s Test Batsmen Rankings 2021. He was previously rated sixth.

12-Australia’s Marnus Labuschagne has surpassed England’s Joe Root to become the world’s number one batsman in the ICC Men’s Test Batsmen Rankings 2021.

13-Rohit Sharma, India’s highest-ranked test batsman, is currently rated fifth in the Test Batsmen Rankings.

The lone Indian bowler in the top ten in the ICC Test Bowler Rankings 2021 is 14-Ravichandran Ashwin. He has constantly held the second position.

15-Jasprit Bumrah has dropped from 10th to 12th in the ICC Test men’s bowling rankings.

16- Pat Cummins, the Australian Test captain, tops the ICC Test Men’s Bowling Rankings.

17-In the ICC Test All-Rounder Rankings 2021, West Indies cricketer Jason Holder is ranked first, followed by India’s Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja.

India won the bronze medal in the 18th Asian Champions Trophy 2021, defeating Pakistan 4-3.

19-South Africa vs. India India vs. South Africa test series The test and ODI series will be played behind closed doors, with no spectators permitted.

20-The first test between India and South Africa took held on Boxing Day, December 26, 2021, in Centurion.
