Physics one-liners for various competitive examinations

Physics

Welcome to Physics Section page.

We know the importance of general awareness, GK (General Knowledge) in various competitive exams for aspirants.

We are publishing general awareness notes and study material of various subjects daily.

We publish articles on this page from Physics part and general knowledge point of view.

These Physics notes are extremely useful for all exams including Bank Exams.

Physics and other General Awareness bits help in the last minute preparation for various exams.

1- The distance covered by a moving body in a unit time interval is called its speed.

2-Speed =Distance travelled/Time taken

3-The time rate of change of displacement of a body is called its velocity.

4-Velocity= Displacement/Time

5- An object is said to be moving with uniform velocity if it undergoes equal displacements in equal intervals of time.

6- An object is said to be moving with non-uniform or variable velocity if it undergoes unequal displacement at equal intervals of time.

7-The time rate of change of velocity of a body is called its acceleration.

8-Acceleration = Change in velocity/Time taken.

9-When a body is thrown from horizontal making an angle except for 90°, then its motion under gravity is a curved parabolic path, called trajectory and its motion is called projectile motion.

10-The motion of an object along a circular path is called circular motion.

11-Circular motion with a constant speed is called uniform circular motion.

12-During circular motion an acceleration acts on the body towards the center. It is called centripetal acceleration.

13-Force– It is an external push or pulls which can change or tries to change the state of rest or of uniform motion. SI unit of Force is newton (N) and CGS unit is dyne.

14-In circular motion one can experience that a force is acting on them in opposite to the direction of centripetal force called centrifugal force. This is an apparent force or imaginary force. It is also called a pseudo force.

15-Inertia is the property of a body by virtue of which it opposes any change in its state of rest or of uniform motion in a straight line.

16-When a running bus or train stops suddenly, the passengers sitting in it jerk in the forward direction due to the inertia of motion.

17-The momentum of a moving body is equal to the product of its mass and its velocity.

18-A large force which acts on a body for a very short interval of time and produces a large change in its momentum is called an impulsive force.

19-Friction-It is a force which opposes the relative motion of the two bodies when one body actually moves or tries to move over the surface of another body.

20-Friction is necessary for walking, to apply brakes in vehicles, for holding nuts and bolts in a machinery etc.
