  1. On Friday, the Supreme Court overturned the Telangana High Court’s decision to jail National Thermal Power Corporation Limited (NTPC) chairman Gurdeep Singh for two months in a contempt case.

2-Pradyut Bordoloi, an Assamese member of the Lok Sabha, has requested the Central government to establish a medical testing centre and visa stamping facility in Guwahati. He claimed that those from the northeast who want to travel overseas would benefit from this action.

3-On Friday, the Supreme Court instructed Attorney General (AG) R Venkataramani that lawyers who have been elevated by the collegium for appointment as judges should not be opposed solely on the basis of their point of view and that a court should reflect a diversity of ideologies and viewpoints.

4-The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has asked the head of operations of all airlines to sensitise their pilots, cabin crew, and director-in-flight services on the topic of handling unruly air passengers using appropriate means. This is in response to frequent instances of unruly behaviour by air passengers in which pilots and cabin crew members failed to take appropriate action.

11-The Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) has sent notices to the Delhi Police, Air India, and the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) regarding the incident in November of last year on a flight from New York to New Delhi in which a man urinated on an elderly female co-passenger while intoxicated.

12-More than 1200 transgender people have been apprehended by the Railway Protection Force (RPF) for disturbing the peace and acting inappropriately on trains.
