1- After the Telangana High Court invalidated the IAS officer’s appointment to the state cadre, the Union Department for Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Tuesday stripped Telangana Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar of his duties in the state administration.
- The relieving orders will go into effect right away. Somesh Kumar must join the Andhra Pradesh government by January 12 at the latest.
- A few hours after the Central Administrative Tribunal’s (CAT) judgement assigning an Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer to Telangana in 2016 was overturned by the High Court, the order was issued.

2-Telugu Desam Party (TDP) national president and former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu had a visit from Tamil superstar Rajinikanth on Monday in Hyderabad.
- Naidu and Rajinikanth first connected at the latter’s Jubilee Hills home. It was described as a courtesy call by TDP.
- The decision in Andhra Pradesh On Monday, the YSRCP rejected the idea of holding early elections and denounced the rumours as a plot by the opposition TDP “and its supportive media.”
- Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy, general secretary and government advisor for public affairs for the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP), has stated that the elections will take place in 2024 as scheduled.

4-On January 9, the YSRCP held a celebration at the party’s headquarters to mark the fourth anniversary of YS Jagan Mohan Reddy’s Praja Sankalapa Yatra.
- In front of party leaders and workers, Ramakrishna Reddy, MLCs Umareddy Venkateswarulu, Lella Appi Reddy, and Bapatla MP Nandigama Suresh cut a cake.
5-Telugu Desam Party (TDP) President Nara Chandrababu Naidu declared on Monday that N.T. Rama Rao’s formation of the first TDP administration in unified Andhra Pradesh was a historic day for Telugus around the world.

6-The iconic actor, better known by his stage name NTR, took the oath of office as the chief minister of Andhra Pradesh on January 9, 1983. By winning the election nine months after launching the TDP under the banner of Telugu self-respect, he set a record. The state’s Congress was no longer ruled by a single party as a result.
- According to Chandrababu Naidu, “exactly, this was the day 40 years ago when the late NTR took an oath as the chief minister to bring about fundamental changes in the lives of the underprivileged.”
7- Chandrababu Naidu was appointed chief minister in 1995 after organising a coup against NTR a short time after the latter had returned the TDP to power with a record-breaking majority. Because they disapproved of Lakshmi Parvathi’s purported attempts to seize control of the party and the government, NTR’s children also backed Naidu.

8-NTR, the founder of the TDP, passed away on January 18, 1996, at the age of 72, due to a heart arrest.
- Chandrababu Naidu, who returned the TDP to power in 1999, served as chief minister from 1999 to 2004. In the aftermath of Andhra Pradesh’s 2014 division, he established the first TDP administration in the remaining state.
10-On a petition filed by the Andhra Pradesh government seeking a prompt and equitable division of assets and liabilities between it and Telangana, the Supreme Court on Monday gave notice to the Central and Telangana governments.
- Justices Sanjiv Khanna and M.M. Sundresh’s panel asked the Center and the Telangana administration for responses.
- On June 2, 2014, the state of Telangana was created with the division of Andhra Pradesh.
