  1. Inter Milan won the Supercoppa for the eighth time as the Nerazzurri successfully defended their title with a 3-0 victory over AC Milan.

2-South Africa’s opening batsman Hashim Amla has declared his retirement from all forms of cricket and has joined MI Cape Town as a batting coach for SA20.

  • Amla has amassed 34,104 runs in his two-decade career across all forms, 9,282 of those in 124 Test matches, the second-highest total for his nation after Jacques Kallis. This includes 28 hundreds, the greatest of which being 311 not out against England at The Oval in 2012—South Africa’s first triple-century in Test matches.
  • Amla was also highly successful in white-ball cricket, hitting 1,277 runs in 44 T20Is and 8113 runs, including 27 hundreds, in 181 ODIs.

3-During the ongoing ILT20 tournament, Dubai Capitals opener Robin Uthappa asked cricket enthusiasts and supporters in the UAE to support the team at all three venues—Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and Sharjah.

4- On Wednesday, 686 runs were scored and 24 sixes were hit in the first One-Day International between India and New Zealand in front of 31,187 fans at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad.

5-After India’s skipper Rohit Sharma defeated Michael Bracewell’s 140-run innings to win the first ODI by 12 runs at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, he was visibly relieved.

6-Before Michael Bracewell almost helped New Zealand chase down 350, Shubman Gill made history at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium by becoming the youngest player to ever score a double century in an ODI in front of 31,187 people.

7-On Wednesday, the Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) was asked to provide an explanation “within the next 72 hours” after Olympian wrestler Vinesh Phogat made significant accusations of sexual harassment against the WFI’s coaches and chief Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh.
