  1. Giridhar Gamang, a former chief minister of Odisha, joined the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) in Hyderabad two days after leaving the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
  • Gamang, a nine-term member of the Lok Sabha, joined the party alongside numerous other politicians from Odisha in the presence of K. Chandrasekhar Rao, the chief minister of Telangana and the BRS president.

2-BRS President and Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao reaffirmed that if the BRS were elected to lead the nation, the entire country will receive 24-hour, high-quality power in two years.

5-On Thursday, a Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) lawmaker in Telangana stirred up controversy by accusing the governor of sitting on bills passed by the house while using profane language.

  • A member of the state Legislative Council named P. Kaushik Reddy’s use of the derogatory Telugu phrase went viral on social media and drew criticism.

6-Chhatrapati Sambhajiraje, a former member of parliament and the thirteenth ancestor of Maratha king Chhatrapati Shivaji, paid Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao a visit on Thursday in Hyderabad.

  • The Swaraj movement activist and grandson of Sahu Maharaj, who succeeded the princely state of Kolhapur, made the chief minister a courtesy call, according to the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO).

7-The head of the Jana Sena Party (JSP), Pawan Kalyan, issued a warning on Thursday against advocating for the North and Rayalaseema parts of Andhra Pradesh to become separate states.

  • The actor-politician claimed that they would not see another radical like him if someone speaks in separatist tones to further splinter the state.

8- Leader of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), K. Kavitha, ‘thanked’ Telangana Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan on Thursday for “echoing the vision of Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao.”

  • The chief minister’s daughter Kavitha responded on Twitter to the governor’s attack on the chief minister during his Republic Day speech.

9-Telangana Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan said on Thursday that only a few people should have farm houses in a dig at Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao.

  • During her remarks at the Raj Bhavan Republic Day function, the governor took a jab at the president.
  • The governor, who is reportedly angry that the state administration restricted the celebration to Raj Bhavan for a second consecutive year, indirectly criticised CM KCR.

10 To commemorate Republic Day, Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao raised the flag at his official residence, Pragati Bhavan.

  • The chief minister paid respects to the fallen soldiers despite not attending the Republic Day ceremony at Raj Bhavan.
  • The chief minister, often known as KCR, decorated the pictures of Dr. B. R. Ambedkar, the architect of India’s Constitution, and Mahatma Gandhi.

11-On Republic Day, Telangana Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan honoured renowned Tollywood composer M. M. Keeravaani and lyricist K. Chandrabose, whose song “Naatu Naatu” for director Rajamouli’s blockbuster received the prestigious Oscar nomination.

12-On January 12, Keeravaani won a Golden Globe in the category of Best Original Song for the song “Naatu Naatu.”

  • The song was nominated for an Oscar for Best Original Song on January 24.

13-The Union government also declared that Keeravaani will receive a Padma Shri for his contributions to the arts.

14-The governor Tamilisai Soundararajan also recognised para-athlete K. Lokeshwari and table tennis player Srija Akula. The Bhagwan Maheever Medical Relief Trust and AM. Bala Lata, who trains candidates for the civil service, were also honoured.

15- Among the individuals from Telangana and Andhra Pradesh who have received Padma awards this year for their services in their various disciplines are social worker Sankurathi Chandra Sekhar, linguist B. Ramakrishna Reddy, and spiritual leaders Swami Chinna Jeeyar and Kamlesh D Patel.
