  1. In the state budget for 2023–2024, which was released on Monday, the Telangana administration increased funding for the agriculture and allied industry as well as certain other important departments.
  • The Rs 2.90 lakh crore election year budget does not include any new programmes, but the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) has increased funding for some of its signature initiatives.
  • Over 2022–2023, the budget expenditure has increased by nearly 13%.

2-Telangana state Finance Minister T. Harish increased allocation for power subsidy to Rs 12,000 crore from Rs 10,500 crore in 2022–2023, stating that Telangana is the only state in the nation providing uninterrupted 24-hour quality power supply to all sectors of the economy and free power to the agriculture sector.

3-The allocation under the Telangana government’s Aasara pension programme, which is offered to various beneficiary categories, has been increased by Rs 271 crore to Rs 12,000 crore for 2023–24.

4-The Telangana state finance minister, T. Harish, requested Rs 17,700 crore under the flagship programme Dalit Bandhu. Throughout the years, Rs 10 lakh would be given to 1,100 Dalit families in each of the 118 Assembly constituencies.

5-The education department has been given a budget of Rs 19,093 crore. He suggested Rs 12,161 crore for the medical and health department.

6-The state’s finance minister suggested spending Rs. 2,500 crore on R&B road maintenance and Rs. 2,000 crore on Panchayat Raj road maintenance.

7-Telangana State Finance Minister T. Harish also declared that SERP employees’ pay rates will be updated beginning in April 2023 and that contract workers will be regularised.

8-Harish Rao put out a budget of Rs. 26,885 billion for the irrigation industry and reaffirmed the government’s pledge to irrigate an additional 50,24,000 acres over the next two to three years, bringing the total area to 1 crore 25 lakh acres.

9-To promote sustainable mobility across the nation, the Telangana government introduced Telangana Mobility Valley on Monday. It is the nation’s first new mobility-focused cluster.

10-In the next five years, Telangana Mobility Valley (TMV) hopes to attract investments totaling about Rs 50,000 crore and create more than 4 lakh jobs.

  • The statement was made by Industries and Commerce Minister K. T. Rama Rao at the opening of the inaugural Mobility Next Hyderabad EV Summit.

11-K. T. Rama Rao, minister of industries and commerce, claimed that TMV has already given the sector a major boost. While Hyundai would invest Rs. 1,400 crore to establish Automotive Proving Grounds, Amara Raja will invest Rs. 9,500 crore to build a Li-Ion gigafactory.

12- KTR said that Allox would invest 750 crore and Bilti Electric would invest 1,100 crore in building India’s first multi-gigawatt cathode manufacture, respectively.

13-To improve young people’s e-Mobility skills, the Telangana government and TASK established the Kalam Centre For Automotive Excellence (CAE).

14-The Telangana state has hired renowned consulting firm Boston Consulting Group to assist in conceptualising and developing a truly distinct vision for the TMV, which aims to facilitate businesses across all segments of sustainable mobility, including Tier 1 and Tier 2 component manufacturers and Auto Engineering R&D companies.

15-The Telangana state government and ATS-TUV Rheinland, a renowned German service provider, have signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU). ATS-TUV Rheinland would invest Rs 250 crore to build and run these facilities at Yenkathala.

16-Hyderabad will host the inaugural Formula E race in India, showcasing the potential of e-mobility.
